Frequently Asked Questions |
|
Q: How often should my carpets be cleaned?
A: It is recommended by most carpet manufactures to have your carpets professionally steam cleaned three to four times per year. This is based on the traffic flow consisting of 2 adults, 2 children and 1 medium sized dog.
Q: How often should I have protectant applied?
A: That really depends on the chemicals that your professional carpet cleaner is using. The process we use would only require a DuPont application every other cleaning, in combination with regular cleanings this will extend the life of your carpet by 6-8 years.
Q: Can I walk on my carpets after being cleaned?
A: Walking on a wet carpet will not affect it, as long as you have clean feet. We recommend putting a towel at all hard surface entryways to prevent slipping and from tracking residue onto the clean carpets.
Q: What do you think about rental machines?
A: There are advantages and disadvantages to using a rental machine. The main advantage is you might be able to save a couple bucks, however the chemicals you buy with it are “consumer friendly”, diluted down to prevent harmful fiber reactions. If you are not able to rinse out ALL of the chemical from the carpets you will leave a sticky residue creating rapid re-soiling.
Q: What spotters should I use?
A: Most store bought products are diluted to prevent damage, also they contain a high PH rating that will leave behind a sticky residue attracting dust and dirt ending up with little black spots. We recommend using a neutral Ph rating of 7 like Avenge that will work miracles for you. |
